Speech and Language Development

The speech and language development class is intended to provide specific, intensive language stimulation to a small group of children who have specific language impairment based on professional evaluation.

The teacher is specifically trained to instruct students with language difficulties. There is a lower pupil teacher ratio and the curriculum is adapted to provide learning materials that are stimulating and challenging for each child.

Academic Support

RESOURCE Teachers

Academic help is provided to cycles 1 through 3 (Grades 1 to 6) by our resource teachers. The resource teacher provides teachers and students with serves as a facilitator in helping students with different learning needs and provides additional support and strategies to help students achieve in the content areas.

Children work in their class or in the resource room. The resource teacher, in collaboration with the classroom teachers, writes up the individualized education plan (IEP) that will best meet the learning style of the student with the understanding that success is not defined in the same way for everyone.
